Replacement
District Office
1 story | 13,000 SF | $3.5M | LEED-NC Gold (Registered)
The aging
facilities of the existing district office, were not accessible, not energy
efficient and poorly utilized due to inefficient use of space. The concept behind the new design was to
bridge the gap of solving the programmatic needs of accessible spaces and
symbolically tie this facility to the environment. The importance that nature has to the
community and the district are showcased in a design that connects to Sedona
through the use of natural materials and views, while providing for a lifelong
sustainable building through solar generated electricity, green roof, water
collection and geothermal mechanical systems to heat and cool the building. The
building is now a teaching tool and a source of inspiration for the community.
